Authentic Community

Stepping into a Higher Version

Last week I attended The Leadership Circle™ Summit. It was way more than a training opportunity. Or a vacation. Or a conference with like-minded hearts, minds and souls.

Last week was my own Axial experience.

“Axial” in that it was a pivotal moment when I could see all of who I have been coming together for this particular group of people, with that specific location, and those unique speakers and leaders. I knew it was going to be life-changing…just wish I knew how much was going to shift for me and those around me.

We had speakers from NASA to Harvard, experts from Google and MIT, Tai Chi Masters and international journalists and beekeepers who all shared their authentic selves and messages.

I was literally in heaven!

Beautiful conscious deep conversations…moments of transformative learning … tears and laughter of intimate sharing.

So many memories!

Lots of new people that I was initially feeling disconnected or separate from have now become new friends, colleagues, connections, and potential partners.

Then the re-entry. A term many of us at the Summit used to describe our returning to our Real Life. It’s been a rough one, personally, professionally and on a spiritual level too.

At this time of continued heartbreak, chaos, low confidence or trust in our nation’s leadership and the mixed messages from our media, it’s time for us to find this Summit within. And, from that strength of inner knowing, groundedness in our Truth and Wisdom, share and act from Compassion and Love in our circles, families, and communities.

I felt my own wings and heart expand and grow last week…not just my mind.

There was a deep knowing that I am perfectly perched, ready to take off and soar with my message.

It’s time to take a stand. Rooted in our physical self and connected to our divine self. Guided by our Passion/Purpose and Pleasure.

My new mantra for the next 100 days is:

I am a powerful creatrix who easily receives outrageous prosperity creating beauty and excellence all around me, simply by being my authentic embodied self.

What is yours?

Authentic Pause

Luxury and the  Worthiness to Enjoy Vacation

I’ve been excellent at DOing all my life. What about you?
To-do lists. Grocery lists. Packing lists. Project lists. Full Schedules and making sure I stay busy, busy, busy.
Time off and time alone used to scare me. I felt lazy. Or like a loser.
How many people do I know that live for their vacations? They then spend half their time on their phones, checking emails, returning work texts, writing up reports (because they have time away from the office to focus on them) or getting stuff done that doesn’t happen during a typical workday?
And, here I am. Amidst a group of amazing leadership consultants, trainers, coaches and thought leaders. People who work with CEO’s and leadership teams of well-known global companies. And, I feel like I need to work to feel like I belong.

The space is luxurious. A ski resort in Park City, where the whole space is filled with us. My beautiful room is filled with amenities and the turndown service comes with the most delicious chocolates!

So, I’ve been struggling to feel worthy. Wanting to “belong.” Or to let go of the worry that the money invested in the expensive lodging, cost of the Summit or airfare is stretching me financially. Can I spend this kind of money on ME?

I’m choosing a new way to look at all of this, today. As if I am stepping into the next level of my work. That I’m surrounded by brilliant, conscious and heart-centered, self-aware and successful individuals who cry and laugh and share from the heart for a reason, to remind me to SHINE. Remind me that I’m welcome in this space. In this community. That I belong. That I have much to offer.
And, so I pause. I’ll record a podcast at some point. But not today. I want to steep in the conversations. The depth of the intimate sharings. The wealth of knowledge shared in the sessions. And, to take a long bath in essential oil scented salts in a gorgeous tub.
Yep. I’m pausing. Reflecting. Radiating. Renewing. Rejuvenating. Re-membering my worth, my wealth, my own contribution. You see? I’m valuable just by BEing me.
As are you!
Let’s talk about stepping into your leadership. Let’s talk about amplifying your impact as a leader. Let’s share the journey of BE-coming. Together.
Ready to retreat? Join me on Friday, October 13th for an overnight retreat where we will dive into the Freedom of our Feminine Leadership Power. Where you can relax and remember YOU.

Cultivating our Character in the New Axial Era

[spreaker type=player resource=”episode_id=12790442″ width=”100%” height=”200px” theme=”light” playlist=”false” playlist-continuous=”false” autoplay=”false” live-autoplay=”false” chapters-image=”true” ]

Did you know we are in the New Axial Era? A pivotal time when converging thoughts/philosophies/cultures/religions are driving us to an evolution of humanity?

The first one occurred in the first millennium BCE.

The phrase originated with the German psychiatrist and philosopher Karl Jaspers, who noted that during this period there was a shift—or a turn, as if on an axis—away from more predominantly localized concerns and toward transcendence.

(love this, as I’m all about Transcendence and Transformation…)

We are on the wave of a New Axial Era. A pivot point.

The importance of Character and its role in Education, Leadership, and Community is not a new concept. However, it ‘s been lost amidst our reverence for Science and Technology, Math and Engineering.

We’ve left philosophy and religion to pick up the education and development of Character (what makes you uniquely you) as now it’s time to drive the forging of discovering and developing our Character Strengths with areas of Passion and to fuel and create change.

That is shifting now.

Media and the millennials are driving forward the merging of personal passions with innovation to create an impact on the world. And we all need to get on board.

AND, today is Character Day 2017!

When I first heard about it from change agent, Karen Hoffman, Founder of Gateway to Dreams, (just to name one of her entrepreneurial pursuits) I thought, “Oh, this is cool. Segues nicely with my work, happy to be a part of it.”

However, in the weeks leading up to it as an Ambassador and Facilitator of this global event occurring in hundreds of countries and all 50 states on the same day, I’ve gotten more excited.

Blending beautiful video imagery with both local and global discussions and interaction can be illuminating for all involved and can truly ignite the fires of creativity and community change we are ready for.

Find an event near you or at least watch the movies at http://www.letitripple.org/character-day/

And as always, SHINE on with YOUR unique Character Strengths and Passion! How can you use them in Creating the Change YOU want to see?

Integrity – BEing All In

[spreaker type=player resource=”episode_id=12740624″ width=”100%” height=”200px” theme=”light” playlist=”false” playlist-continuous=”false” autoplay=”false” live-autoplay=”false” chapters-image=”true” ]

Are you too open?

Operating more from outside influences (people’s expectations, society’s norms, cultural or religious practices?) or from your own Inner Guidance System?

When we “go with the flow” sometimes we are not checking in to see if it’s our Flow. Our own wisdom. Our own soul’s whispering of where our heart is desiring to go.

This is what I call Living Outside of Ourself. I know it well. It is how I spent the first 50 years of my life.

Even when I felt strongly about something and shared my view in a conversation or heated discussion, I could feel persuaded to move/shift/turn away from it by listening to another’s well-reasoned explanation or perspective.

It felt wishy-washy. I wasn’t sure where I stood sometimes. I could see the world through so many other’s eyes, I wasn’t confident in what I was really seeing.

Sometimes that is a good thing.

Anything at ALL times is not a good thing.

I listened to all the gurus, teachers, experts, and wise ones and would shift and slip away from my own Truth.

This was good in some ways. Just not in ALL ways.

How do you determine what is right for you? Where you stand? What your Inner Wise One is saying versus when to listen and learn from others?

Where do you stand in Integrity? Wholeness? Self-Alignment?

That’s the topic today. Let’s see where this takes us…

As always, I welcome your comments, suggestions, questions, and conversation.

Leading, Loving and Living

With Radiance and Vibrancy

How much do you SHINE? And, where?

Are you SHINING in some places in your life but not others? Are you aware of how you operate differently with different people? In different scenarios? In different roles?

It was easier for me to SHINE when at work for many years. My career offered me a place to be smart, witty, strategic, a people connector and a brilliant problem-solver. All strengths of mine.

When I was with clients I felt the most comfortable and engaged and fulfilled. I know now why that is, I enjoy helping them see different ways of operating their businesses, open to new ways of leading, learn about how they are getting in their own way and how to navigate differently.

I am a manifesting maven when it comes to supporting others in creating their dreams.

Not so much when it comes to my own.

Yet, the more I dip into, deepen in, or fully dive into my own dreams, I’m not feeling as magical. Not as powerful. Not that brilliant.

I know this is true for many of us. We love to support others, advocate for them, argue for their cause and open doors for them all while seeing them at their highest and best, especially when they forget. Think of how we parent!

And, then turn it around. Do we support ourself? Advocate for ourself? Argue for our own cause/value/mission/dream? Open doors and receive? See ourSelf at our Highest and best?

This is the direction I’m heading into today. While also exploring what creates that Radiant Health and Vibrant Energy that we all desire.

Share with me any thoughts you have in the Facebook Group, The SHINE Challenge.

We’re all in this together. And, we all SHINE a bit brighter when one of us shares their brilliance!

Deborah offered some terrific exercises that really helped me to define where I wanted to be in the short-term and longer-term.  She offered practical and usable advice and tactics for dealing with immediate challenges.  Deborah even engaged in a team assessment with my staff that helped us to understand each other’s strengths and how to more effectively work as a team.

I reflect often on the work Deborah and I completed together and continue to find value in that work.  With Deborah’s help, I was able to develop the confidence to take some bold steps that resulted in a really amazing professional change for me.  I consider her my coach for life and would not hesitate to engage her again as I continue to grow in my new role and set new goals and aspirations.
