Thanks, I’ve got this.
No really, I do!
You see, what YOU think of ME, is none of my business.
I read that book. About 40 years ago, in fact. Here’s a link, if you’re curious.
It had a profound effect on me then, and it still does.
Yet, I forget. I worry about what to write and how to write it and how to show up in what clothes and what people think and the feedback I get (even if it is good!)
How can we get OVER ourselves? Follow our own guidance and trust when it’s time to ask for guidance from others. There is a huge difference.
I’d like to tell you a story about how other’s were concerned about me 10 years ago and how I switched it back and took back my power – and it was magical!
I was divorced, running out of money and networking all over town to find the perfect job that would utilize my talents, give me the flexibility to be Mom to my middle-school-aged daughters and pay me enough for my household expenses as I was not receiving child support.
A dear friend and my mother both shared with me they were concerned (afraid, actually) for me and worried about when I was going to find a job. I assured them both, calmly and assertively, that I wanted only their confidence in me and to imagine me happily working and paying my bills. They both agreed and within the next month or so, not one but TWO contracts for my consulting work were signed!
So, let’s get back IN-to our own self, stop minding others’ business and ask politely that they not get into ours unless invited.

It’s become so common that no one is surprised anymore. We all just nod our heads in some type of secret solidarity.
Yet, why are we sharing from a place of shame? Or Guilt? Or Embarrassment? Or, even, with a sense of thinking we are responsible, in some awful way?
It’s time to stop the avoiding and clean up the shame, and start healing.
This open door will never swing shut again. More and more sexual assaults, inappropriate behavior, rapes kept under wraps are now seeing the light of day. The media posts new stories daily and we aren’t even bothering to read them. (Or, maybe that’s me, this is not new!)
What if we took this new-found solidarity, commonality across all women of different cultures, colors and class, and used it to fuel our Light?
What would happen if we were sharing with glee something beautiful that happened from sharing and healing to becoming more empowered, conscious and ready to tell our truth?
I’d love to discover what could happen when we realized that this totally inappropriate treatment we’ve all received was just a catalyst for igniting our realization of our value, our worth, our strength?
As we glue together the pieces where we previously thought we were broken, we heal the parts and are even more beautiful, more complex and more resilient.
The term Wabi-Sabi applies here…the Japanese believe in the beauty of impermanence and imperfection. When a piece of art or pottery is broken, they often fill the cracks with gold. Creating a more beautiful piece and honoring the imperfection.
Let’s shift into this type of #MEtoo. Let’s shift into the beauty of what we are now from the healing, growing and expansion into a more stunning piece of art? What if we shined our light through those cracks?

What are YOU Afraid of?

What is your deepest fear?
In honor of Halloween and Dia de los Muertos next week, let’s talk about fear.
Funny how lots of people like scary movies. We can laugh at the ridiculousness of the plots and know that it’s not real.
Yet, when scary stuff comes up for us, we literally cringe. Hide. Run away or freeze.
For most of us, Fear runs our life. We are so afraid of what we don’t want to happen, we are literally closing off what we do want.
It’s where we let old stories, and often younger versions of ourselves, take the driver’s seat. Where we step aside, literally, giving our power away.
I run. I hide. And, I freeze.
I veg watching Netflix. Drinking wine. Or through sex.
I get super busy. Or, stop doing anything at all in a state of depression-like coma.
All in resistance to what wants to be expressed or experienced or let in.
What am I SO afraid of? Who am I so afraid of Be-Coming?
And when I recognize it, how do I use that energy to fuel my momentum versus let it suck me back into the same-old, stuffy, suffocating space of who I used to be.
Let’s move into the next iteration of Courageous Authenticity. Where we don’t run from our Fear, or Hide from it, or even manage it. We welcome it, transform the energy of it and utilize it.
Nothing in life is wasted. All forms of energy are valuable.
What is holding you back? Where are you stopping your SHINE from radiating from you? Who do you want to show up as and how does she want to BE in the world?
Chances are, it’s exactly what you need and want that calls you forward. It’s more powerful than Fear.
Ready? I’m here with you…remember it’s a journey.

It’s harvest time for many but not for me. Autumn is my “spring cleaning” time.
Letting Go to Live More Fully is one of my mantras and I’m typically singing it as I welcome this time of year.
I’m finding myself tossing old items, giving away piles of clothing and linens, cleaning out toiletries, (how does that drawer get so cluttered?) and generally, cleaning house.
Culling from my freezer and pantry too. Getting off of mailing and email lists. Aligning my bank accounts. And, reviewing/assessing/releasing relationships. This one is the hardest.
This brings me to my topic for today. When we consciously make the decision to walk away from a person who has been a big part of our life, it’s a big deal. So is standing up and asking for things to change. And, additionally, being willing, AND READY, to leave if they don’t.
So, here is that time of year. Mastermind circles ending. My first Authentic Leadership Academy coming to a close, the realization that the romantic relationship I’m in is no longer where I’m flourishing and happy.
With all of this “letting go” comes a sense of clarity. Freedom. More space to BE. And, the fear of being “alone” is also present.
Many of my friends, clients and colleagues are coupled. If you are one, you may not understand what I’m going through, It’s been one hell of a decade since my divorce, and I thought I was done healing.
Maybe we are never done. Just like we are never complete.
Here’s to seeing where this takes me and how I’ll grow in the process!

With Radiance and Vibrancy
How much do you SHINE? And, where?
Are you SHINING in some places in your life but not others? Are you aware of how you operate differently with different people? In different scenarios? In different roles?
It was easier for me to SHINE when at work for many years. My career offered me a place to be smart, witty, strategic, a people connector and a brilliant problem-solver. All strengths of mine.
When I was with clients I felt the most comfortable and engaged and fulfilled. I know now why that is, I enjoy helping them see different ways of operating their businesses, open to new ways of leading, learn about how they are getting in their own way and how to navigate differently.
I am a manifesting maven when it comes to supporting others in creating their dreams.
Not so much when it comes to my own.
Yet, the more I dip into, deepen in, or fully dive into my own dreams, I’m not feeling as magical. Not as powerful. Not that brilliant.
I know this is true for many of us. We love to support others, advocate for them, argue for their cause and open doors for them all while seeing them at their highest and best, especially when they forget. Think of how we parent!
And, then turn it around. Do we support ourself? Advocate for ourself? Argue for our own cause/value/mission/dream? Open doors and receive? See ourSelf at our Highest and best?
This is the direction I’m heading into today. While also exploring what creates that Radiant Health and Vibrant Energy that we all desire.
Share with me any thoughts you have in the Facebook Group, The SHINE Challenge.
We’re all in this together. And, we all SHINE a bit brighter when one of us shares their brilliance!
